Report: Rhode Island Targeting Blackhawk Grad Archie Miller for Head Coaching Vacancy

Published

On Wednesday, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Rhode Island, just days after firing head coach David Cox, is now targeting former Indiana head coach Archie Miller for its coaching position.

Miller, a native of Beaver Falls and a graduate of Blackhawk High School, coached at Indiana from 2017-21, but was fired in March. Prior to his time leading the Hoosiers, he served as the head coach of Dayton from 2011-17, leading the Flyers to four-straight NCAA tournaments.

Miller is a member of the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame, as he started out playing for his father at Blackhawk and winning a WPIAL title as well as two PIAA state titles in his playing career.
