Pitt Contacts Three More Transfer Prospects, Including One From West Virginia

This week, Pitt has continued to recruit the transfer portal hard in an attempt to fill its six open scholarships.

On Tuesday, Hoop Scoop Media reported that the Panthers’ staff reached out to Kalu Ezikpe, a transfer from Old Dominion. A 6-foot-8 power forward, Ezikpe averaged 11.3 points and 7.1 rebounds this season for the Monarchs. He played four seasons at ODU, averaging over ten points per game in each of the last two seasons.

In addition to Ezikpe, Pitt also reached out to Sean McNeil, a former West Virginia 6-foot-3 guard. McNeil averaged 12.2 points per game this season, hitting 37% of his three-point attempts. Against Pitt, McNeil scored 11 points and hit three of his four threes.

According to StockRisers, Vanderbilt transfer Shane Dezonie also hear from Pitt, as well as several other schools. Dezonie, a Pennsylvania native, is a 6-foot-5 guard that averaged 2.4 points per game. In a limited role, the freshman hit 56% of his 25 three-point attempts. Out of high school, he was ranked as the No. 100 recruit in the nation in the class of 2021.

I don’t think the problem or even useful information is reaching out. It is like making scholarship offers, people collect them. What is important is actually landing those that they reach out too.
