Pitt FB Recruiting

2023 3-Star WR Tastean Reddicks “Really Considering Pitt” Following Visit

Pitt has dipped into Florida to snag some elite talent since 2018, including Habakkuk Baldonado, Marquis Williams, Jared Wayne, Vincent Davis, Calijah Kancey, Brandon Hill, Jake Renda, Jordaan Bailey, and a few of Tastean Reddicks’ former teammates.

Reddicks, a 6-foot-0, 180-pound three-star wide receiver from Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, played at Deerfield Beach High School with current Pitt players Aydin Henningham and P.J. O’Brien for a few seasons, and his former teammates have already been working hard on the recruiting trail.

“They love (Pitt), they want me to come up there with them,” Reddicks told PSN. “I’ve been hearing a lot of good stuff from them, nothing but good things.”

Reddicks holds offers from Akron, Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Nebraska, Pitt, South Florida, Temple, Tulane and Wake Forest, and Pitt has managed to make a strong impression so far.

“My relationship with (Pitt) is very good,” Reddicks told PSN. “The main coach I usually talk to is coach (Charlie) Partridge. He’s the one that offered me, so I’ve really built that relationship. I talk to coach (Tiquan) Underwood here and there, but my main guy is coach Partridge.”

In talking with Underwood, who has arrived as Pitt’s wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator from Rutgers recently, Reddicks said he’s seen the excitement over his ability to stretch the field — and the explosive way he attacks the field from the slot. With Jordan Addison and Konata Mumpfield, Pitt is loaded in the slot, but Reddicks’ speed and explosiveness would fit well into the system.

While Reddicks was able to visit Pitt for the 2022 Blue-Gold Spring Game, he wasn’t able to stay for an extended visit because he was deep into a recruiting visit, but he wishes he was able to stay longer. And he was able to learn a lot about Pitt during the visit.

“It was very unique,” Reddicks said. “I really like how they have the Steelers — and I toured the school, too — but the Steelers and Pitt have a great relationship with each other.”

After an initial visit, Reddicks is excited to head back to Pittsburgh for another visit, especially after seeing how heavily Pitt recruits south Florida. And there’s already a visit being planned for this summer.

247Sports nor Rivals have rated Reddicks yet, but he does hold a 5.5 Rivals Rating — along with a three-star rating.

With visits planned for Maryland and Louisville, for now, Reddicks still has visits planned throughout the summer. But, “Pitt is definitely up there, very, very high,” Reddicks said. “I’m really considering Pitt.”
