Amy Scheuneman Resigns as WPIAL Executive Director

On Thursday morning, it was announced by the WPIAL Board of Directors announced that Executive Director of the WPIAL Amy Scheuneman will be resigning from her position after spending just under two years in the position.

The board accepted her resignation will take effect once the spring sports season concludes on June 1. The board will meet next week to discuss the replacement of Scheuneman’s position.

Scheuneman was named the WPIAL Executive Director in July 2020. During her time in the position, she oversaw the WPIAL’s social responsibility policy and worked hand and hand with the board of directors to create the Diversity and Inclusion advisor council. 

Prior to her time with the WPIAL, Scheuneman spent time with various high schools around the Pittsburgh area as an athletic director at Avonworth, Bethel Park, and North Hills before transitioning into her current position.

Scheuneman will announce her new position on April 18.
