Regardless of what football program you are, because of the completion that exists, it’s not easy to land an elite recruit.
Two of the biggest factors in trying to do so are getting that player to make an unofficial visit before setting up his official visits and also developing a strong relationship with the coaching staff. That player needs to feel comfortable and that the coaches are almost like an extension of his family.

In an interview with Rivals.com, Williams revealed that he’s settled on three official visits: Pitt, Georgia and Texas A&M. Two other unofficial visits that Williams also made this spring were to Alabama and Florida State.
In the interview with Rivals, Williams broke down why he decided to use one of those five valuable visits to return to see Pat Narduzzi’s program.
“Pitt was amazing. Pitt is beautiful. It is beautiful up there. I like it. They have a lot of talent there and a lot of great coaches there. The environment there is amazing,” said Williams..
”I started to becoming interested in Pitt when Coach Underwood got there. He was at Rutgers recruiting me. I had high interest in Rutgers, but now he is at Pitt. That has kind of flipped the script.”
Williams is rated as the No. 36 overall player in the Class of 2023 and aside from the previous mention listed schools, also has offers from Auburn, Florida, LSU, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State and USC.
This is definitely good news for Pitt but it’s only the first step. Williams hasn’t decided on an exact date but indicated it could be the first weekend in June.
