Local Standout Adou Thiero Adds Offer from Sean Miller, Xavier

On Thursday, Quaker Valley star Adou Thiero picked up another Division One offer, this time coming from Xavier and new head coach Sean Miller.

Thiero holds offers from Pitt, Duquesne, Kentucky, Maryland, Cincinnati, and more, and recently took his first official visit to Duquesne. After the visit, he broke down the trip with Pittsburgh Sports Now.

“The Duquesne visit was great,” Thiero told PSN. “Really loved it over there. First, we started off touring the school, seeing everything. Facilities and all. We had already been there for an unofficial, so we already saw campus. We went through the facilities again, met with more people, met some other players on visits, and it was just a great time. Later, we went to look where the players stayed and everything, and then went out to dinner.”

Thiero also told PSN that he will be taking official visits to Kentucky and Maryland in the next couple of weeks, and potentially another visit to Pitt.

The WPIAL star stands at 6-foot-5 and is a combo guard, playing both the one and the two. This season, he averaged more than 23 points and ten rebounds per game while leading the Quakers to the WPIAL 4A title win and a second-place finish in the PIAA state tournament.

He picks up the offer from Miller, a Beaver County, Pennsylvania native who just recently took the Xavier head coaching job. The Pitt and Blackhawk HS alum most recently coached at Arizona prior to accepting the Xavier job this spring.
