Over the weekend, in addition to Miami (OH) transfer Dae Dae Grant, Duquesne will be hosting another player that is currently in the transfer portal in Christian Ray.
Ray is a 6-foot-6 forward who played three seasons at LaSalle prior to entering the portal. This past season, he averaged five points and 6.9 rebounds per game, earning a career-high 18 starts and shooting 42% from the field. His best game of the year came against Delaware early in the season, when he dropped a season-high 14 points in 42 minutes.

Last season, Ray registered 7 points and 6 rebounds against the Dukes. The season before when going against Marcus Weather and Mike Hughes, Ray collected 14 rebounds. Ray has earned a reputation as a tough, winning player.
After losing guards Tyson Acuff and Jackie Johnson III to the transfer portal, Keith Dambrot and co. are doing all they can to make up for the lost back court talent. However, with the recent addition of former VCU guard Tre Clark, combined with a potential addition of Grant and perhaps Ray, the Dukes may just have as strong a back court as there is in the conference next season.

The Dukes are also bringing in a solid 2022 high school recruiting class, which includes LA Pratt, David Dixon, Abdou Halil-Barre, Kareem Rozier, and Matus Hronsky.
