LOOK: JuCo Standout Fede Federiko Visits Pitt

Over the weekend, JUCO forward Fede Federiko took an official visit to Pitt just weeks after de-committing from West Virginia.

Federiko told Pittsburgh Sports Now that he was on campus at Pitt, and passed along photos from his trip.

Federiko is a 6-foot-11 forward who played this season for Northern Oklahoma College, starting 28 games and averaging 11.7 points per game. He also shot 59% from the field and 57% from the free-throw line. Federiko grabbed 8.6 rebounds per game this season.

“I’m a rim protector, a defensive guy. I can run the floor, finish around the rim and play above the rim,” Federiko told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I like to be athletic.”

Federiko played for First Love Christian Academy in Washington, Pennsylvania prior to his time in junior college.

Pitt has signed one player this offseason, adding Colgate transfer Nelly Cummings. The program has seven open scholarships to fill after numerous players hit the transfer portal and Gueye ran out of eligibility. The Panthers need all the help they can get in the front court, as bigs Noah Collier, Max Amadasun, Dan Oladapo, and Mo Gueye are all moving on from the program.
