Keith Dambrot is still looking to add two guards to next season’s roster and soon will be hosting a top target.
Pittsburgh Sports Now is told that Butler High School star guard Devin Carney will be on campus tomorrow for an official visit.
Duquesne basketball on Pittsburgh Sports Now is sponsored by The Summit Academy: setting young men on the path to a better future.
The prolific scoring guard recently de-committed from Elon after previous head coach Mike Schrage left for an assistant coaching position at Duke.
With his recruitment now open, the 6-foot-1 combo guard picked up offers the last couple days from St. Bonaventure and Miami (Ohio). Prior to committing to Elon last July, Carney held offers from Duquesne, Holy Cross, George Mason, Furman, Rice, Radford and North Carolina A&T.
Carney scored over 2,000 points at Butler and averaged over 25 points per game this season. Carney is a three-level scorer that’s known for his poise and high basketball IQ.
Considering his skill set both offensively and defensively, along with his versatility, Carney is someone the Duquesne staff is hoping to add to their roster.
He can dish, drive, and dunk. Has great range on a really quick step-back jump shot.
