UConn Transfer Akok Akok Reschedules Visit to Pitt, Still ‘Very Interested’

There’s been a change of plans regarding Akok Akok’s visit to Pitt.

The highly-coveted transfer forward from UConn won’t be in Pittsburgh this weekend as originally scheduled. Akok’s AAU coach Vin Pastore tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that Akok has come down with a case of the stomach bug and instead of battling that while on an important visit, will instead come to visit Pitt next Friday and Saturday.

Earlier this week, Akok made a visit to Georgetown and will make an official visit to West Virginia on Monday. While some might speculate that this cancellation is due to a lack of interest in Pitt, Pastore assures PSN that isn’t the case.

“Absolutely has nothing to do with that. (Akok) is very interested in Pitt.”

Jeff Capel is envisioning a 2022-23 front court of Akok and sophomore John Hugley in the post for the Panthers.

I believe our chances will greatly improve once he arrives on campus.
