The 2022 Pitt wide receiver depth chart, led by Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison, is one of the most talented in the entire country.
The hiring of Tiquan Underwood will no doubt allow Pitt to keep this receiver talent flowing in due to his personality as a coach recruiter, but more importantly, recruits have the chance to get developed by a wide receivers coach that played at the highest level and has a track record of developing his guys.
A player that Underwood would very much want to coach and mentor made some news Monday morning.
2023 4-star receiver Hykeem Williams announced that he will make an official visit to Pitt on June 24-26.
Considering his national pedigree, this is a big development for Pitt. Williams is currently ranked as the No. 5 in the Class of 2023 and the No. 36 overall recruit in the country.
Williams previously revealed that three of his five official visits will be to Pitt, Georgia and Texas A&M.
While Pitt has plenty more to do in order to hope to get a commitment from Williams, the fact that he’s making a return visit to Pittsburgh and has Underwood and Charlie Partridge leading his recruitment, Pitt definitely as a chance.
Underwood has a goal of making Pitt’s wide receiver core the best in the country for many years and landing a talent like Williams would certainly fast track that goal.
