Over the weekend, Pitt offered a Class-of-2023 forward prospect by the name of Mouhamed Dioubate.
Dioubate stands at 6-foot-7 and plays for Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut. He is ranked as the No. 88 prospect in the nation by Rivals, and also holds offers from St. John’s, VCU, Georgia Tech, Duquesne, and more. His recruitment is certainly picking up, as he is also receiving interest from Ohio State, SMU, St. Louis, Michigan State, Maryland, and more.
Pitt head coach Jeff Capel extended the offer to Dioubate.
“I was excited when I got the Pitt offer,” Dioubate told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I like the program and the style of play. I had a good conversation with the head coach, and he offered me. They’ve been recruiting me for a while and I like them, we are starting to build a relationship.”
Dioubate said that he does not know much about the Pitt program yet, but he does know that it has “good player development.”
The NY native recently had a great weekend of play at the first EYBL session in Indianapolis. There, he averaged 15.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for PSA Cardinals.
Pitt currently has one player committed in 2023, Marlon Barnes. Barnes committed to the Panthers during the Winter and is John Hugley’s former high school teammate.

It happened once before at Pitt when coach Roy Chipman who cane to Pitt from a small school.and recruited Charles Smith the number one high-school player in the country. This resulted in 4 other 5 star players arriving at Pitt over 3 or 4 years. Unfortunately the coaching was not up to the quality of the recruiting.. Otherwise… Read more »
