High-Flying 2023 Wing Kaden Cooper Breaks Down Pitt Offer

Last week, Pitt head coach Jeff Capel extended an offer to another wing in the 2023 class, this time by the name of Kaden Cooper.

Cooper is a 6-foot-5, 180-pound wing from Ada, Oklahoma who is known for his tremendous athleticism, length, and speed. Cooper plays his AAU ball for Team Trae Young, and has elevated his stock this spring to another level. Cooper broke down his game with Pittsburgh Sports Now after picking up the offer from the Panthers.

“On offense, it’d definitely be getting to the cup,” Cooper said when asked what his best skill is. “I feel like I can get to the cup whenever I want to. I feel like my catch and shoot too. I do a little bit of everything. Whatever my team is lacking at the time, that’s generally what I do. I get rebounds and I’ll get buckets when needed.”

Since the start of April, Cooper has picked up offers from Texas, Creighton, Oklahoma, Illinois, Wake Forest, Kansas State, St. John’s Rutgers, LSU, Texas Tech, Kansas, Syracuse, Xavier, TCU, Houston, Mississippi State, Pitt and more, with Pitt being his most recent offer.

“He [Capel] called me, it wasn’t necessarily a long phone call, but he called me and he was telling me he watched my film and that he loved me,” Cooper told PSN. He told me how I would fit into their program. To be honest, I don’t really know much about Pitt, but he made it seem like a great school. I am comfortable with him. I am looking forward to building a relationship with him as I go through m recruitment.

Cooper is ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 196 player in the class of 2023. He also told Pittsburgh Sports Now that he is working on two visits for this summer and fall: Gonzaga and LSU.

Pitt currently has one commitment in the 2023 class, Marlon Barnes out of Brush High School in Cleveland, Ohio.

Hmmm. Should I go to Pitt or Kansas? That’s a tough one!

It’s cute how Capel is still tilting at windmills like he will have a job next season….
