The Duquesne football program announced on Tuesday that they’ve made an addition and a change to its 2022 schedule. The Dukes will have a non-conference game against Thomas More University on Sept. 10 at Rooney Field. The game is set for a noon kickoff and it will be the home opener for the Dukes. Thomas More is located in Crestview Hills, Ky., and competes in the NAIA.
Instead of playing Bryant on Oct. 1, the Northeast Conference announced that Duquesne will play Stonehill College on the road. Stonehill is located in North Easton, Mass., and accepted an NEC membership last month. The Skyhawks are transitioning from the Division II Northeast-10 Conference.
Duquesne’s first game of the season is against Florida State in Tallahassee on August 27. In Week 2, the Dukes face Youngstown State on the road. They’ll also make a trip to Honolulu for a game against Hawaii on Sept. 17.
The game against Youngstown State is set for a 2 p.m. kickoff, while the start times for the Florida State and Hawaii games are to be announced. Duquesne’s win over Ohio last season was its first victory over an FBS school in program history.
