Pitt volleyball released their schedule for the 2022 season on Wednesday, which features a plethora of teams that played in last year’s NCAA Tournament.

The Panthers play in 13 matches that include a team that made the NCAA Tournament last season. They also face off against four opponents who made at least to the Regional Semifinal.

The Panthers made it to the Final Four in Columbus, O.H. last season for the first time in program history, which ended in a loss to Nebraska in four sets. Head coach Dan Fisher, who starts his 10th season with the Panthers, will look to improve upon the team’s season last year and possibly make it all the way to the final match.

Pitt’s first match is the Blue-Gold exhibition match on Aug. 20 before officially starting the season the next weekend. They take on San Diego, Hawaii and Texas A&M in College Station, T.X. that weekend and then travel to Provo, U.T. to take on Cincinnati, Utah State and BYU Labor Day weekend.

The Panthers first match at the Fitzgerald Field House is against American on Sep. 9 in the annual Panther challenge. The Panthers also face off against Bowling Green and Towson to round things up that weekend.

Pitt then takes on two NCAA Tournament teams last season in non-conference opponents Tennessee on Sep. 16 and Ohio State on Sep. 18, both at home.

The Panthers start off ACC play against the North Carolina on Sep. 23 and the NC State on Sep. 25. They also host Notre Dame, Florida State and Miami at home this season in conference play.

On the road in the ACC, Pitt takes on Virginia, Duke, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Clemson.

The Panthers play a home-and-home series with four opponents in Syracuse, Boston College, Georgia Tech and Louisville. Georgia Tech and Louisville made the NCAA Regional Final and NCAA Final Four, respectively last season and the teams were great opponents for this tough Panthers team.

One last game is non-conference opponent High Point on the road on Oct. 2.
