Official visitors won’t be the only players visiting the Pitt football program this weekend.
2024 4-star defensive end Nigel Smith is traveling from Melissa, Texas to Pittsburgh for an unofficial visit.
Getting Smith to visit is a major coup for Pat Narduzzi and the Panthers. Smith (6’5″, 260) is rated by Rivals.com as the No. 50 overall player in the Class of 2024 and the No. 3 defensive end. Along with Pitt, Smith holds offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Baylor, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Texas Tech.
Credit Tiquan Underwood and the relationship that he’s developed with Smith and his family as a major reason for him coming to check out Pitt.
