Pitt will be getting an official visit from a big lineman from Florida.

2023 offensive tackle Tai Ray from Apopka, Florida will be in Pittsburgh for an official visit from June 24-26. At this point, Ray (6’7″, 300-pounds) doesn’t hold an offer from Pitt. Ray has received offers from Appalachian State, Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, Indiana, Middle Tennessee State, Tulane and South Florida.

Ray is being recruited by both Tim Salem and Dave Borbely. This won’t be Ray’s first trip to Pittsburgh as back in April, he made an unofficial visit, which really got this relationship started.

“I have been talking to Pitt for a while now and decided to go up and see the Spring Game,” Ray tells Pittsburgh Sports Now. “When I went there, they showed me the facilities, the practice fields, the stadium and let me take a photo shoot. It was a great experience for me and knew I wanted to come back during the summer.”

“I believe Coach Borbely and I are building a great relationship and will continue to build it during my official visit. I’m hopeful that when I’m there that I get that offer! Pitt tells me that they like my size and my ability to move for that size. At the recent Florida State Mega Camp on June 5, they said that my 1-on-1 reps were very impressive. They’re telling me that I am high on the board for them recruiting wise.”

Ray is the second offensive tackle in the last week to schedule an official visit to Pitt, with offensive tackle Phillip Daniels (Cincinnati, Ohio) being the other.
