Top-Ten Guard Dior Johnson Includes Pitt in Top Three

Published

on

Just days after de-committing from Oregon, class-of-2022 guard Dior Johnson has included Pitt in his new top three schools list along with Mississippi State and Washington State.

Johnson will visit Mississippi State this week, starting on Tuesday. He stands at 6-foot-3 and is ranked as the No. 37 overall player and No. 7 point guard in the nation by 247 Sports’ Composite rankings. He played his senior season of basketball at Southern California Academy, which was the tenth high school he attended throughout his four years.

Johnson was also previously committed to Syracuse prior to his pledge to Oregon. He has spent time at some of the biggest high school programs around the country in recent years, and has become a national name in prep hoops. Below is his full scouting report from 247 Sports’ Jerry Meyer:

“Good length and stature for a point guard. Quick athlete with superb body control. Has tremendous instincts as a driver and passer. Delivers the difficult pass. Finishes the difficult shot. High level lay up maker. Has multiple fade away moves to his right shoulder. Shoots the ball well enough to be considered a three-level scorer. Has potential to rebound his position well and be a dangerous versatile defender. Has bounced around to multiple high school which some view as a yellow flag.

George seriously what are the odds that he comes to Pitt? He doesn’t have an offer listed from Pitt on 24/7

Sweet…2.5 schools per year. How foes that work? He couldn’t have played ball at each stop. Maybe he never set foot on campus. Was registered in order to qualify somewhere else?

Does the “top ten” designation refer to the number of high schools? Just curious
