Pitt Extends Offer to 2024 3-Star QB Marcos Davila After Unofficial Visit Wednesday

The month of June has seen Pitt establish a steady stream of official visitors turning to commits and some of the top out-of-state quarterbacks making it out to Pittsburgh for unofficial visits.

One of those out-of-staters is 2024 three-star quarterback Marcos Davila from Midland Legacy High School in Midland, Texas. Davila (6-foot-3, 200 pounds) didn’t arrive in Pittsburgh with an offer, but he certainly left with one.

With an unofficial visit to Pittsburgh, his first trip up north, Davila was able to connect with offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr. and assistant quarterbacks coach Jon DiBiaso and he even posed for some photos with head coach Pat Narduzzi.

With offers from Florida Atlantic, Illinois State, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee State, North Texas, TCU, UTSA and West Virginia, and he’s received interest from Florida State, SMU, Texas and Texas Tech — visiting all three schools.

Landing Davila on an early unofficial visit, even without holding that official offer until the end of the trip up to Pitt, is continuing the trend of top 2024 and 2025 quarterbacks receiving strong Pitt interest and reciprocating.

As a sophomore at Midland Legacy in 2021, Davila threw for 2,718 yards and 27 touchdowns (to just seven interceptions) on 168-of-254 passing attempts to lead the Rebels to a 10-2 with a run in the Texas Class-6A Division I playoffs.

247Sports rates Davila as the 370th-ranked recruit in the class (32nd-ranked quarterback and the 49th-ranked recruit from Texas) while On3 rates him as the 498th-ranked recruit in the class (43rd-ranked quarterback and the 57th-ranked recruit from Texas). Rivals rates him as the 46th-ranked recruit in Texas.

Pitt has hosted 2024 quarterbacks in four-star Isaiah Marshall (Southfield, Michigan), four-star Jakhari Williams (Macon, Georgia), 2025 quarterbacks Max Gerlich (Del Valle, Texas), George MacIntyre (Brentwood, Tennessee), 2026 quarterback Josiah Oxendine (Dillon, South Carolina) and 2027 quarterback Furian Inferrera (Las Vegas, Nevada) over the last week and will host 2024 three-star quarterback Alex Erby (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania), 2024 three-star quarterback Judd Anderson (Gray, Georgia) will be visiting soon.

Pitt landed 2023 four-star quarterback Kenny Minchey (Hendersonville, Tennessee) as the sole quarterback of the class, and the search is on for the quarterbacks in the classes of 2024, 2025 and beyond.
