2023 4-Star F Papa Kante Schedules Visit to Pitt

While Pitt has earned the commitments of two players in the 2023 class so far — Marlon Barnes and Carlton Carrington — the Panthers are still searching for their big man of the future.

While Pitt’s staff has clearly recruited more guards than forwards and centers in the 2023 class up until this point, it does have its eyes on one of the top forwards in 2023, Papa Kante.

Kante is a 6-foot-10 4-star forward/center out of South Kent School in Connecticut who 247Sports ranks as the No. 116 prospect in the nation and the No. 15 center in the country. On Friday, Kante confirmed to Pittsburgh Sports Now that he will take an official visit to Pitt on June 28.

Kante’s month of June has been full of visits, as he has already taken trips to Rutgers and Michigan, with another trip scheduled to Maryland slated for June 20-22, per Joe Tipton of On3. Michigan was rumored to be the frontrunner for Kante heading into the month, but as he is taking all of these visits, anything can happen in this recruitment.
