While Pitt has earned the commitments of two players in the 2023 class so far — Marlon Barnes and Carlton Carrington — the Panthers are still searching for their big man of the future.
While Pitt’s staff has clearly recruited more guards than forwards and centers in the 2023 class up until this point, it does have its eyes on one of the top forwards in 2023, Papa Kante.
Kante is a 6-foot-10 4-star forward/center out of South Kent School in Connecticut who 247Sports ranks as the No. 116 prospect in the nation and the No. 15 center in the country. On Friday, Kante confirmed to Pittsburgh Sports Now that he will take an official visit to Pitt on June 28.
