Although he’s already given Pitt a verbal commitment, it looks as though Shelton Lewis isn’t totally locked in with the Panthers.
Over the weekend, the 3-star safety from Stockbridge, Georgia made an official visit to Mack Brown and North Carolina.
After committing to Pitt on June 4, Lewis canceled his official visit to Boston College that was scheduled for the weekend of June 10 but ended up keeping his visit to Chapel Hill. Before committing to Pitt, Lewis had a Top Five of Pitt, Boston College, North Carolina, Arkansas and Vanderbilt.
In an interview with Don Callahan from Inside Carolina of 247 Sports, Lewis said “It was a great visit. The coaches the atmosphere, the players – everything was more than I expected.
Lewis went on to tell Callahan that he was done with official visits and was then asked if he’s sticking with Pitt or possibly flipping to UNC?
“I’ll say (on making a final decision) maybe in June or July – before the season for sure. I want to feel wanted on campus by everybody.”
Lewis is currently one of Pitt’s 11 commitments for their Class of 2023 and one of three defensive backs (Brice Pollock and Shadarian Harrison).
Then he’s not committed pull the ship
Again ….Give me good d line and O line this young man is a dime a dozen … pitt getting no respect
Just like local kid show
It’s sad so many grown people have negative things to say. No one knows why this kid is wavering…..but I would definitely keep recruiting his position. It’s like a relationship. If you have he wants to see other people we need to see other people. Pitt is not a desperate program. Lots of guys would love to play here.
Then stop using the word committed then ,you use the reference about relationships well if you’re in a committed relationship you don’t see other people
Exactly. I’ve said it for many years now. It’s not committed. It’s more of a “probability” that they will attend that school.
It’s probably the shittiest thing in college sports. Recruiting and some are very good at it… makes up for poor coaching
It’s a business now there getting paid … don’t commit. If your not sure
The campus and Dre Bly (not to mention UNC’s history of “academics”) make this a done deal. He’s gone.
By “academics” I assume you mean that his school work will be done for him at UNC.
Nope, actually he’s not gone.
Tit for tat. Narduzzi isn’t guiltless. He has flipped a number of commitments. It’s just the business they are in.
College sports really needs to come up with a new interim category that does not include the word ‘commitment’. How dumb.
College sports really needs to come up with an interim category that doesn’t include the word ‘Committed’. Geeze.
This kid doesn’t even rate that highly so unless Pitt is desperate at the position, just release him from his ‘commitment’. This sends a message to other recruits.
Don’t play hardball with 17-year olds, it could backfire.
