In late November, Pitt will travel to Evanston, Illinois this season to take on Northwestern in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge,
The game will be played on Monday, Nov. 28, per release. Pitt head coach Jeff Capel and Northwestern head coach Chris Collins formerly shared a backcourt in their playing days at Duke, and have stayed close friends in their coaching careers. The two programs have played each other 20 times over the years, with a 10-10 split so far through the first 20. Pitt has won each of the last four contests against Northwestern.
The two teams last faced off in the 2020-21 season, with Pitt storming back from a halftime deficit to win on a Justin Champagnie game-winning dunk with seconds remaining.
