Pitt Football Moves Up In Latest Rivals 2023 Team Recruiting Rankings

Published

on

Three more players officially announced over the weekend that they were committing and joining Pitt’s Class of 2023.

The additions of 3-star offensive lineman Tai Ray, Colin Van Rooy and Ryan Carretta now gives Pitt 13 announced verbal commitments, while three more players have yet to reveal their decisions.

Pitt has put together a solid Pat Narduzzi type recruiting class filled with a number of current high 3-star recruits that are on the verge and can be elevated to 4-star status, like quarterback Kenny Minchey, cornerback Brice Pollock, defensive tackle Isaiah Neal, defensive end Antonio Camon and wide receiver Kenny Johnson.

Following this morning’s commitment of Ray, Pitt has moved up in the latest Rivals 2023 Team Recruiting Rankings. We’re just mentioning Rivals because the other two national recruiting outlets, On3 and 247 Sports, haven’t updated their team rankings with the addition of Ray.

Here is where Pitt stands as of Monday, June 27 as far as Rivals.com is concerned.

Does anyone else feel that 247Sports is anti-Pitt sports? They hardly ever have positive articles about the football or basketball program. They were one of the first to report on Addison leaving the program. Also, just today they had an article about the Manning QB camp & had Kedon Slovis listed as the QB for WVU…like Come On Man…get your story straight.

247Sports just ranked Jordan Addison as the 4th most explosive college FB player for 2022. In discussing his accomplishments, they noted that he won the Biletnikoff award last year and was Kenny Pickett’s top target, which led to an ACC championship, However, conspicuously absent from this article is any reference to Pitt or that
he played for Pitt. In fact, the word “Pitt” does not appear in this article. Hmmm….
