Florida 3-star defensive back Jesse Anderson officially committed to Pitt this afternoon, giving them 14 players in their Class of 2023.
After landing just one player from Florida last season, the Pitt staff has enjoyed early success in that talent rich state this year as Anderson becomes the 5th player from Florida in Pitt’s Class of 2023.
Pitt 2023 Commitments From Florida:
Jesse Anderson (Fort Lauderdale)
Tai Ray (Apopka)
Montravius Lloyd (St. Petersburg)
Antonio Camon (Tampa)
Shadarian Harrison (Lakeland)
Pitt recruiting in Florida is nothing new and precedes the arrival of Pat Narduzzi but during his tenure, the Panthers have no doubt made that state a bigger priority and devoted more coaches to recruit the abundance of talent. Charlie Partridge is heads up Pitt’s efforts in Florida, but he also has help from Tim Salem, Cory Sanders, Tiquan Underwood and Frank Cignetti, Jr.
The encouraging thing is that the Panthers are no doubt getting results from all the effort they’ve put in recruiting Florida. The same can be said for the recent effort placed in Georgia, which is led by Archie Collins, with help from Ryan Manalac. In terms of recruiting in Pennsylvania, most of that is done by Cory Sanders and Dave Borbely, while Ohio is manned by Archie Collins, Randy Bates and Ryan Manalac.
With the news today from Anderson, that gives 66 commitments from the Class of 2020 thru 2023. Here is the breakdown of where the Pitt coaches have gotten these players from.
