Pitt women’s basketball is set to take a 10-day trip to Italy from August 6-16, the program announced Wednesday afternoon. This is the first international trip for the program since one to Italy in 2017.
The Panthers leave for Italy on Aug. 6 and arrive in Rome the next day. They play their first game of the trip in the city on Aug. 8. Then Panthers then travel to Florence for some time off before going to Vicenza on Aug. 11 where they play their second game.
Pitt practices ten times over this trip, but also gets some chance to do sightseeing and adventures. They travel to Trieste for two days for sightseeing tours and then a day trip to a beach in the city of Portoroz, Slovenia, which also includes a visit to Piran, Slovenia.
They spend their last two days of the trip in Venice and take some tours around the city before returning to Pittsburgh.
Pitt looks to enjoy their time overseas, but also gain experience against international opponents before the season starts in early November.
