Pitt women’s basketball faces off against Illinois Wednesday, Nov. 30 at the Petersen Events Center in the annual ACC/Big 10 Challenge.
The Panthers possess a record of 3-4 in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge since they joined the ACC for the 2013-14 season, and 2-1 under head coach Lance White. Their most recent matchup in the competition came against Rutgers last season at home, which ended in a 58-50 win.
The Fighting Illini’ are a consistent basement dweller in the Big 10, finishing no higher than 10th place in the previous nine seasons. They start the season with a new head coach in Shauna Green, who spent the last six seasons as head coach of Dayton.
This matchup is the first between the two programs, and Pitt will try to continue their good play in the competition with another win in late November.
I think Pitt WBB will be a much better squad this year. Coach White and staff seemed to have done an excellent job of landing some talent this year to build a solid program with. #H2P
