Pitt redshirt senior defensive lineman Deslin Alexandre announced the start of The Fifth Down Campaign.
It is a partnership with the Pittsburgh Kids Foundation, with the goal of raising $50,000 in order to provide better schooling, food and more for children in Cap-Haitien, Haiti, where Alexandre is from.
Alexandre moved to the United States when he was only three years old and remarks how he benefitted from the move and how he took advantage of the opportunities.
“Many Haitians are not afforded the same opportunities, so I wanted to use my platform to bring awareness to the disparities in Haiti,” Alexandre said in a video announcing the foundation. “This Campaign is important to me because I want to bring more opportunities to the children of Cap-Haitien.”
