Pat Narduzzi raised some eyebrows, and the ire of the Big Ten, when he criticized former offensive coordinator Mark Whipple’s lack of run game last week, but it wasn’t the first time he’s mentioned the lack of run game this year.

In February, after the hire of new offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti, he said that Pitt didn’t do a very good job of getting the running backs the ball last season. “I’d like to run the ball. I’m not going to tell an offensive coordinator what to do, how to do it, when to run it,” he said then. Funny enough, the new offensive coordinator agrees.
