Pitt’s Backyard Brawl Tickets Sell Out in Record Time

Published

on

Individual tickets for the Backyard Brawl went on sale at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, and 10 minutes later, they were sold out.

The Backyard Brawl will kickoff the 2022 season, a Thursday night matchup under the lights at Acrisure Stadium on Sept. 1. Pitt deliberately held single ticket sales until Tuesday, and as expected, tickets quickly sold out.

The anticipation surrounding the Backyard Brawl continues to increase in intensity, but it’s not just the Brawl that is drawing excitement, it’s Pitt’s 2022 season. It’s not hyperbole to say that this is perhaps the most important season in decades, and a win over West Virginia to start the season would kick the season off as well as could be hoped for.

Season ticket packages can still be bought to secure a spot at Acrisure on Sept. 1, and tickets can found on third-party sites online.

The renewal of the Brawl in 2022 expects to be one of the biggest games of the 2022 season. A special College GameDay broadcast will take place inside Acrisure will take place an hour before kickoff, and after 11 seasons without a matchup, it could be the biggest game in Pittsburgh in years.
