Pat Narduzzi got the Pitt fan base excited on Sunday afternoon with the Twitter announcement that his program had received another commitment to their Class of 2023.
However, as has been accustomed this recruiting season with Pitt, no public indication yet as to who made the commitment to the Panthers.
Considering the player hasn’t revealed his decision, it’s looking as though Pitt fans are going to have to wait for another silent commitment.
When a ‘Pat Signal’ is revealed and no public announcement has been made after a few hours, that’s a signal for a silent commitment.
Pitt has already received a handful of silent commitments for this Class of 2023. In fact, Pitt’s last commitment was offensive lineman BJ Williams, who took a month to announce he was coming to Pitt. Part of that had to do with the fact that Williams had already given a verbal to Memphis when he changed his mind and committed to Pitt during his official visit.
Could today’s silent commitment be going through the same site? I guess we’ll find out in the near future.
As far as the speculation/hope that the commitment could be 5-star wide receiver Hykeem Williams, I’m doubtful of that.
I would think that when Williams makes his much anticipated decision, he will make the news public at a press conference and won’t deal in silent commitments. Also, Williams is a player that’s coveted by the Pitt staff and I can’t see them sitting on this type of news for close to two months. Williams plans on making his announcement at the end of September.
The Pitt Panthers have added another player to their program. Now, we just have to wait to find out who it is.
