Over the last week, Pitt star forward John Hugley led his USA East Coast team to an unbeaten record in Spain.

Hugley, heading into his junior season, shined for the team that finished 3-0 on the week.

To start off the tournament, Hugley played 14 minutes, adding six points and five rebounds in his debut overseas. In the second matchup, he scored 13 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in 12 minutes. In the last game of the trip, Hugley posted a 17-point, 8-rebound performance in his 17 minutes of playing time.

Hugley competed alongside several ACC players and players from around the country: Ethan Morton (Purdue), Logan Alters (California), Jaylen Blakes (Duke), Jaden Bobbett (Middlebury), Shamir Bogues (Tarleton), Allyn Breed (Providence), Raphael Castro (Providence), Jarrett Hensley (Cincinnati), JR Konieczny (Notre Dame), Brandon Newman (Purdue), KJ Simpson (Colorado), Cinque Stephens (NYU), and Bennie Williams (Syracuse).

“John definitely had some strong performances for us during the games,” coach Raphael Chillous told PSN. “We went 3-0 and he hit some monster 3’s for us in our last game to stem a strong run by our opponent.”

Up next for Hugley is his first annual John Hugley Basketball Camp at his alma mater Brush High School in Lyndhurst, Ohio. On August 20, Hugley will host the free camp from 12-4 p.m., and according to the camp’s flyer, he will also give out school supplies to the kids in attendance.
