Jeff Capel continues to extend offers to players in the Class of 2024.

The latest offer went to one of the top overall sophomores in the country.

2024 4-star power forward Donnie Freeman received his latest offer from the Pitt Panthers. Freeman is 6’9″, 200-pounds from St. John’s College High School in Washington D.C.

Freeman is highly rated by both Rivals and 247 Sports, as he’s currently ranked as the No. 24 overall player by Rivals, while 247 Sports has him at No. 33 and also lists him as the No. 1 overall prospect in DC.

Along with Pitt, Freeman has also received offers from Alabama, Georgetown, Iowa, Marquette, Maryland, Ole Miss, Rutgers, Syracuse, Texas, Virginia Tech and Xavier.

Rivals.com writer Zach Smart describes Freeman as a “high motored big who has become a consistent double-double threat. He’s shown his ability to rebound and sustain a back to the rim game at the highest level of play.”

Why such a weak offer sheet for a player ranked that high?
