High Priority Guard Jaylen Curry to Take Official Visit to Pitt

When it comes to Pitt’s 2023 targets, Jaylen Curry has been near the top of the recruiting board for more than a year now after his first visit to Pitt.

The 6-foot-3 point guard has now scheduled another trip to Pitt — this time an official visit — on the weekend of September 9-11, his father confirmed to Pittsburgh Sports Now.

The No. 17 Pitt football team will take on Tennessee at Acrisure Stadium on that Saturday while Curry is on campus.

Curry is currently playing for Calvary Christian Academy for his senior year of high-school hoops after playing the past few years for JL Chambers High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. 247 Sports ranks Curry as a four-star prospect and the No. 11 point guard in the class of 2023. He holds offers from Pitt, Memphis, Alabama, Ole Miss, Xavier, and others. His father also told PSN that Curry will take an upcoming visit to Memphis.

Pitt currently has two players verbally committed to the program in the 2023 class, with Marlon Barnes (Ohio) and Carlton Carrington (Maryland) pledged. Prior to hosting Curry, the Panthers will host Ty-Laur Johnson on Sept. 1-3 for an official visit. Keep an eye on PSN for the announcement of a third guard that will be visiting in the near future.
