Pitt faces off against 14 dual opponents, with half of the games at home and half on the road. This also includes two early season open tournaments, Nov. 6 at Clarion and Nov. 11 at Cleveland State, which are vital in getting Pitt wrestlers ready for competition down the line.

Before the open tournaments, the team starts off with the Blue-Gold dual, pitting Pitt wrestlers against each other in a preseason match.

The Panthers host Maryland and Lehigh on Nov. 18 and Nov. 19, respectively, at the Fitzgerald Field House for the first home dual meets of the season.

The next three dual meets are on the road for Pitt, as they take on Illinois on Dec. 3, Brown on Dec. 9 and Columbia on Dec. 11. The Brown matchup will pit Gavin off against his former assistant of five years, Jordan Leen, who took the head coaching position at the school in June.

Pitt travels to Chicago, Ill. over the Christmas break, to participate in the Midlands Championships from Dec. 29-30.

The Panthers then return against the West Virginia Mountaineers in the Backyard Brawl at home on Jan. 8. This is the first matchup between the two rivals since a convincing 29-6 victory for Pitt in December of 2019.

After facing off against Buffalo at home on Jan. 13, Pitt starts their ACC play. They will travel to face off against Virginia on Jan. 20, Virginia Tech on Jan. 27 and NC State on Feb. 10. and they host North Carolina on Feb. 3 and Duke on Feb. 10.

In the middle of ACC play, the Panthers host the Iowa State Cyclones on Feb. 4. The matchup should be a great one, as the Cyclones are one of the best wrestling squads in the NCAA.

NC State hosts the ACC Wrestling Championships on Mar. 5 and then the NCAA Wrestling Championships take place from Mar. 16-18 in Tulsa, Okla.
