PITTSBURGH — Pitt found out tonight that it’s not easy to take on a Power 5 team, along with a bitter rival in a season opener.
However, the ACC Champions made huge plays in the 4th quarter, including a game-winning interception by MJ Devonshire gave Pitt a 38-31 win over West Virginia.
It wasn’t pretty but Pitt starts the season 1-0 with a huge non-conference game up next against Tennessee.
A lot will be said about Neil Brown not going for that 4th and 1 and that it was a mistake. I’m not so sure. they clearly had the momentum at that point of the game. I’m not sure I wouldn’t have made the same call. Their fans can resort to that as the one call that lost them. But Pitt made a lot of mistakes and let them stay in the game. Take out some sloppiness and we win by 14. but then again, that’s sort of our MO. H2P
Well said great game
Good job fellas. 1 game in the win column. That’s what matters. All the other noise is analysis and conjecture. 1 game played and 1 game won.
