PITTSBURGH — Pitt’s defense will feature a few new starters against Tennessee this afternoon.
John Morgan III and David Green, at defensive end and defensive tackle, respectively, will slide into the starting lineup. Both Morgan and Green took their fair share of snaps against West Virginia in Week 1, but now each will kick the game off.
M.J. Devonshire will also take the start at cornerback in place of A.J. Woods on the outside.
Green will rotate heavily with Devin Danielson and Tyler Bentley inside next to Calijah Kancey, and with Deslin Alexandre coming back from an arm injury last week against WVU, Morgan — who was impressive last week in a sort of coming-out game — will receive increased reps alongside Habakkuk Baldonado.
Devonshire, the pick-six hero against WVU to seal a win, will also slot into the lineup as a starter, but A.J. Woods and Rashad Battle — and potentially Ryland Gandy — will receive their fair share of reps in rotation.
