How to Watch: Pitt Hosts First SEC Program in Acrisure Stadium History

Published

on

It’s the second national broadcast in a row for Pitt, and this time around, it’s a ranked matchup against the first SEC school to ever make a trip to Acrisure Stadium.

The Johnny Majors Classic will get underway for the second, and potentially last, time at Acrisure between Pitt and Tennessee Saturday afternoon.

It’s a matchup between two schools looking to boost their own national brand, and with a win, Pitt could enter ACC play in a few weeks ranked just inside or around No. 10 in the county.

Tennessee hosted Pitt last season at Neyland Stadium, with the Panthers picking up a 41-34 road win. The Volunteers completed a 7-6 season, scoring just under 40 points per game, and in the second season of Josh Heupel’s tenure, it’s expected to be an even faster offense.

Pitt is 3-0 all-time against Tennessee, dating back to two matchups in the early 1980s, and this season’s matchup could be the last in the foreseeable future.
