Pitt Football Opens As Eight-Point Favorites Against Western Michigan

Published

on

Despite the uncertainty due to injuries with Pitt’s quarterback situation, Vegas likes Pitt to win by more than a touchdown this weekend.

Pitt has opened as an eight-point favorite on Saturday against Western Michigan, according to Circa Sports, and the over/under has been set at 49.5

DraftKings Sportsbook has Pitt as 10-point underdogs, and the over/under has been set at 55 points. The betting odds regarding the spread and the over/under are set at -110, and the Money line currently sits at -380.

FanDuel Sportsbook is slightly higher on Pitt, setting Pitt as -10.5-point underdogs, with both bets against the spread holding -110 odds. The over/under has been set at 55.5 points, with both options holding -110 odds. Pitt is -420 against the money line.

Western Michigan (1-1) is coming off a 37-30 win over Ball State, after opening the season with a 35-13 loss at Michigan State. This past weekend, quarterback Jack Salopek was 25 of 43 for 238 yards with a 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Hi leading receiver was Corey Crooms, who hauled in 10 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Sean Tyler rushed 14 times for 111 yards (7.9/carry) and a touchdown.

Pitt will be looking to avenge last season’s 44-41 loss to Western Michigan. The Panthers are 32-5 all-time against MAC Conference opponents, with the last MAC road game coming on September 15, 2015, a 24-7 win at Akron.

Pitt was 5-0 on the road in 2021, marking their first undefeated road season since 1987.

Just as a point of terminology, an underdog is the the team predicted to LOSE. So are you saying Pitt is a 8/10/10.5 point favorite to lose or to win?

So double-team the WR Crooms and force them to Run against a 4-Man front, thanks….

However Narduzzi/Bates don’t subscribe to tailoring the defense to the opposing teams’ strengths, 100% Cover4-ManPress 4-3 all downs and distances .

If Duzz didn’t double Tillman I’m sure he will stick to his stubborn script.
