The Pitt men’s basketball program announced on Tuesday that William Jeffress will be sideline for a few weeks.

Jeff Capel announced that Jeffress will miss six weeks due to an injury to his left foot. No word on how Jeffress suffered this injury.

“Will suffered a foot injury last week and evaluations by our medical staff determined the need to shut him down for a few weeks,” said Capel. “Will has having a strong fall and we are excited about his continued development. This injury is a minor setback, but we anticipate that he will make a full recovery and be ready to return to the court in October.”

In 31 games (16 starts) last season, Jeffress averaged 3.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 20 minutes per game.

The Panthers first official practice is scheduled for September 26 and will play their first two exhibition games against Clarion on October 22 and Edinboro on November. Pitt opens the 2022-23 season on November 7 against Tennessee-Martin.
