Pitt/Western Michigan GameDay Notebook- September 17

Published

on

It’s another Pitt Football Gameday as the No. 23 ranked Panthers are in Kalamazoo, Michigan to take on the Western Michigan Broncos. Both teams come into tonight’s game with records of 1-1 and the oddsmakers have the betting line at Pitt -10.5. Pat Narduzzi’s team will be looking to rebound from last weekend’s loss to Tennessee as well as getting revenge from last season’s disappointing 44-41 loss to Western Michigan at Heinz Field.

Pittsburgh Sports Now’s Pitt football beat writer Karl Ludwig is with the Panthers in Michigan and will provide our coverage. Stick with the GameDay notebook for any pregame news, notes and anything that’s being said on Twitter.

ICYMI, here’s some of our material on this matchup from earlier this week, including two podcasts which preview the game.

We need to catch the ball. Seems like we have had more drops in the last two weeks, than all last season combined.

Cignetti has the QB running from under center or running RPO when in the shotgun in OBVIOUS passing situations. The QB’s don’t have time to see and react to the blitz. He is getting the QB’s hurt.

Cignetti is not playing Left Tackle. Otherwise Run happy on 1st Down, maybe a Play Action on 1st once or twice a Game. Bring back TE shovel Pass interior Play.
