Twitter Reaction To Pitt’s Tough Win Over Western Michigan

Published

It wasn’t pretty. At times it was boring. They’ll probably get penalized by the voters in the rankings but at the end of the day, Pitt won a road game with their third string quarterback on the road.

With Nate Yarnell getting the start, Pat Narduzzi’s game plan was very obvious: run the football and rely on his defense.

The plan worked as Izzy Abanikanda was a workhorse, the defense played their best game of the season and Yarnell was more than efficient when asked to pass the football. In fact, Yarnell outplayed Western Michigan quarterback sophomore Jack Salopek.

Final score: No. 23 Pitt 34 Western Michigan 13.

Pitt moves to 2-1 and will return to Acrisure Stadium next Saturday as they host Rhode Island.
