The Pitt Panthers (2-1) return home to Acrisure Stadium this Saturday to host Rhode Island (2-1) for their final non-conference game of the season.
The coaching staff will no doubt use this opportunity to invite recruits for a Gameday visit and one of the players that will be in attendance holds an offer from Pitt.
2023 athlete Ibrahim Barry (6’6″, 200) from North County High School in Glen Burnie, Maryland will be making an unofficial visit. Barry received his offer from Tim Salem and Pitt on July 13 and holds other offers from Rutgers, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Toledo, UConn, Liberty, James Madison and South Dakota.
Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up on Tuesday evening with Barry to get his thoughts on his first trip to Pittsburgh and to update his recruitment.
“I want to visit Pitt cause of the people who came out of their program and made big names for themself like Aaron Donald and a whole bunch of other guys,” said Barry. Pitt’s giving me an opportunity to reach my dream and to play D1 football and make it to the league so I’m grateful and blessed. I’m getting recruited by Coach Salem and Coach Powell. I’ve also been in contact with the WR coach as well because that’s what I want to play at the next level but I’m willing to play any position to help my team and where I have the best chance to succeed at.”
“Coach Salem’s been in contact with me all summer telling me about Pitt, and I can’t wait to meet the whole coaching staff in person! When I go there, I’m trying to get a vibe of the program, look at what’s around, the people there, the facilities, coaching staff and look at the offense and see how I’m going to get the ball and impact the team.”
Barry went on to say that he loves Syracuse but can’t wait to see Pitt. Other schools that are pursuing him that he has interest in are James Madison and Old Dominion.
In terms of a timeline to make a decision, Barry isn’t completely sure but right now he said it looks like December.
Not rated…..hopefully Pitt can beat out South Dakota, James Madison, Toledo, UCONN
h2p!
Don’t put too much faith in the hype of nationally published recruiting rankings. Narduzzi’s internal recruiting ranking has proven itself.
ok, I won’t pay attention to the experts. What has Duzz proven again?
How convenient of you to leave out VT, WVU and Syracuse. You might want to learn how recruiting rankings work and focus less on being a miserable troll who still lives at home…
didn’t have time, mom was calling me up from the basement as my breakfast was ready. Thanks for responding, rent free

You bring absolutely no value to this board.
Truth hurts, that’s what I bring…he’s not rated and is more suited to play for URI
