Former Pitt Center Jimmy Morrissey Promoted To Texans 53-Man Roster

For the second time in this early season, a former Pitt Panther standout has been elevated from the practice squad to an NFL teams 53-man roster.

Last week, it was long-snapper Cal Adomitis with the Cincinnati Bengals and today it’s his former teammate Jimmy Morrissey.

NFL Insider Aaron Wilson is reporting that the Houston Texans are promoting Morrissey from their practice squad to the active roster. This moves comes after the Texans placed center Justin Britt on the non-football illness list on Tuesday.

Morrissey joined the Texans organization last October after originally getting drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in the 7th round of the 2021 NFL Draft. After making the Raiders practice squad, Morrissey was signed to the Texans 53-man roster and re-signed with them this offseason.

Last season, Morrissey appeared in 5 games and made four starts for the Texans.
