Senior quarterback Kedon Slovis made his return and started for No. 24 Pitt Saturday against URI.
Slovis started the season for the Panthers, leading them to a victory over WVU in the season opener, before suffering a concussion against Tennessee and leaving after the first half.
He sat out against Western Michigan last Saturday, as Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi didn’t want to use him so soon.
Redshirt first-year quarterback Nate Yarnell started in place of Slovis. He completed nine of 12 passes for 179 yards and touchdown in the 34-13 win over the Broncos, earning ACC Rookie of the Week honors.Â
