It won’t be a night game, but Pitt is playing another non-noon game in a couple of weeks.
Pitt and Virginia Tech have been slated for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff at Acrisure Stadium on Oct. 8. The game for those fans who will not be in attendance at Acrisure will be able to watch the game broadcast on ACC Network.
Virginia Tech has started the 2022 season with a 2-2 record, beating Boston College and Wofford and losing to West Virginia and Old Dominion so far this season. It appears to be a rebuilding year for Virginia Tech under first-year head coach Brent Pry.
Pitt is 10-11 all-time against Virginia Tech, dating back to an inaugural meeting in 1993. VT won the first four matchups and seven of the first eight matchups. The two sides have met every season for the last 10 years, with Pitt winning six of the 10 matchups. Pitt won 47-14 in 2020 and 28-7 in 2021.
The broadcast crew for the ACC Network will be announced at a later date.
