With Bye Week, the Pitt Football Coaches Hit The Recruiting Trail

Published

on

With a number of key players playing through injuries or out of the lineup, the bye week is coming at a perfect time for the Pitt Panthers.

Following Saturday’s important win over Virginia Tech, Pat Narduzzi’s squad is off until they return to action on October 22 against Louisville.

Until they return to the practice field next week, the Pitt coaches have an important job this week as they hit the recruiting trail across the country.

A lot of the time will be spent visiting players that have already given their commitment to Pitt. While some might not think this is a big deal, that’s not the case.

A verbal commitment is just that, talk, and nothing becomes official until December. As we see every year, crazy things happen in recruiting, so Pitt coaches need to keep solidifying their relationship with their current Class of 2023 and make sure the pen hits the paper in a couple of months.

Pittsburgh Sports Now has attempted to reach out to a number of recruits, including the 19 commitments in Pitt’s Class of 2023.

Here’s what we’ve learned and keep in mind that we’ll continue to add to this list as we hear back from more players.

2023 3-star Pitt commit defensive end Antonio Camon: Today, Narduzzi and Cory Sanders were in Tampa, Florida to visit Camon, who committed to the Panthers back in June.

2023 3-star Pitt commit wide receiver Jesse Anderson: Today, Charlie Partridge swung by Anderson’s practice at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale.

2023 3-star Pitt commit defensive back Brice Pollock: Tomorrow, Pollock will get a visit from secondary coach Archie Collins. Pollock attends Shiloh High School in Snellville, Georgia.

2023 3-star Pitt commit linebacker Rasheem Biles: The native of Pickerington, Ohio will get a visit tomorrow from his future position coach Ryan Manalac.

2023 3-star Pitt commit offensive tackle Tai Ray: On Tuesday, Tim Salem will be in Apopka, Florida to attend the practice of offensive tackle Tai Ray.

2023 3-star Pitt commit offensive lineman Colin Van Rooy: At the end of the week on Friday, this big lineman from Strongsville, Ohio will get a visit from Archie Collins and Dave Borbely.

2023 4-star Pitt commit quarterback Kenny Minchey: The jewel of Pitt’s recruiting class quarterback Kenny Minchey will meet with offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr., who will travel to Tennessee on Friday.

2023 3-star Pitt commit wide receiver Kenny Johnson: Tiquan Underwood was in York, Pennsylvania to see a player he has big plans for, wide receiver Kenny Johnson.

2023 3-Star Pitt commit wide receiver Daidren Zipperer: Pat Narduzzi and Cory Sanders were in Lakeland, Florida today to see Pitt’s latest commitment.

2023 3-Star Pitt commit running back Montravius Lloyd: Pitt’s lone running back in this class to this point got a visit from Pat Narduzzi and Cory Sanders.
