On Tuesday, the ACC released its preseason poll and preseason awards, as voted on by members of the media in attendance at the 2022 ACC Tipoff.
Pitt landed at No. 14 in the poll out of the conference’s 15 teams. Georgia Tech was ranked last at No. 15 in the poll, while North Carolina (1), Duke (2), and Virginia (3) topped the list.
No Panther player received votes for preseason Player of the Year or preseason Rookie of the Year in the conference.
Last year, Pitt’s John Hugley earned All-ACC Honorable Mention honors after averaging more than 14 points and seven rebounds per game for the Panthers. In 2020-21, Pitt’s Justin Champagnie earned First Team All-ACC honors after posting a conference-high 13 double doubles.
Pitt has finished in the bottom third of the conference in each year of the Jeff Capel era.

I could even see them finishing as high as 15th!
Probably accurate although you never know. With some inspired play and luck, I could see us as high as 10-11. Either way, looking forward to seeing this team play. Best wishes men. H2P !
What a shame. The time has come. Replace Capel. Get a guy that knows the Metro NYC, Philly, and Balti-Wash areas. We will be back quicker.
Just might be Capels last year at Pitt
