On Thursday, four-star forward Papa Kante will be announcing his college commitment.
Kante, a 6-foot-10, four-star forward, has been one of Pitt’s highest-priority recruits over the past few months. However, this past weekend, he visited Michigan and the Wolverines are believed to be the front runner for Kante’s talents across the recruiting industry.
Pitt was the first program to offer Kante and also hosted him for an official visit over the summer. Pitt’s coaching staff, including head coach Jeff Capel (numerous times), has visited Kante up in Connecticut at South Kent School over the past year.
The Panthers currently have a three-man recruiting class for 2023, with four-star guards Jaland Lowe and Carlton Carrington alongside three-star wing Marlon Barnes verbally committed to the program. Kante and his AAU teammate Ladji Dembele appear to be the Panthers’ two top targets at the forward position as of now, with 6-foot-9 Matar Diop (Keystone Prep) also appearing on the board as of late.
