Pitt Opens as 4-Point Betting Favorite Over No. 22 Syracuse at Home

Despite a blowout loss to North Carolina over the weekend, Pitt returns home for another cross-divisional matchup against Syracuse.

The betting lines have inserted Pitt as a 4-point home favorite against No. 22 Syracuse this weekend at Acrisure Stadium, and the over/under has been set at 47.5 points. A 3:30 p.m. kickoff has been set, with the game being broadcast on ACC Network.

DraftKings Sportsbook has set Pitt as a 3-point favorite, with a bet against the spread holding -105 odds for Syracuse and -115 odds for Pitt. The over/under has been set at 50.5 points. A Moneyline bet holds +140 odds for Syracuse and -165 odds for Pitt.

Despite a loss to Notre Dame last week, Syracuse is in one of its best seasons in recent memory. The Orange are ranked 22nd in the Week 10 AP Poll, but with back-to-back losses, the betting lines are favorable.

With wins over Louisville, Virginia and North Carolina State in the ACC and non-conference wins over Wagner, Connecticut and Purdue, Syracuse is 6-2 entering a matchup against Pitt this week.

Pitt is 42-32-3 all-time against Syracuse, dating back to an inaugural meeting in 1916 — a 30-0 victory in Syracuse.

Pitt has won 17 of the last 20 meetings, including four in a row dating back to 2018 and eight of the last nine dating back to 2013.

Kenny Pickett led Pitt to a 31-14 win over Syracuse last season at the JMA Wireless Dome, tossing four touchdowns in the win on the way to the ACC title.

Pitt has played more games against Syracuse all-time than any other school, aside from West Virginia and Penn State.

The ACC Network crew will be announced later this week.

Don’t want to see anyone get hurt, but maybe that will keep some of the vultures away from him for awhile. Definitely Pitt’s best hope for future success.

Will gladly take the 4. Just like I gave the 3 in Chapel Hill. Betting against Pitt is a cash cow.
