2024 4-Star WR Jaylan Hornsby Excited to See Tiquan Underwood and Pitt this Weekend

In his short time at Pitt, Tiquan Underwood has shown the ability to catch the interest of talented wide receivers across the country.

The best example of that is with 2023 5-star wideout Hykeem Williams, who had Underwood and Pitt in his top three schools before eventually committing to Florida State.

Early this week, 2025 5-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench Jr. announced he’ll be in town this weekend for an official visit, and he won’t be the only highly rated playmaker.

2024 4-star wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that he’ll also be making the drive from to Acrisure Stadium. Hornsby (6’3″, 195-pounds) attends Camden High School in Camden, New Jersey. Along with Pitt, Hornsby holds offers from Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Penn State, Syracuse, Boston College, Temple and Rutgers.

Hornsby received his offer from Pitt in May from Underwood and the two have developed a solid relationship since that time.

“I’m coming to visit this weekend because I want to experience the culture of Pitt,” Hornsby tells PSN. “I’ve been hearing good things about Pitt, so I want to get the good experience myself. I also want to catch up with Coach Ti. I haven’t been able to speak with him in person for about a year so it will be good for us to catch up. It should be a good game, Cuse is a good team, so I want to see the battle.”

“Coach Ti, that’s my guy. It’s always great conversations with him. I like how real he is with recruits. He’ll tell you what you need to hear, and I also like that not all of our conversations are about football. They are about anything, personal stuff, like, etc. He wants you to look at him as more than a coach.”

Hornsby’s most recent unofficial visit took place at Syracuse and during the summer, he traveled to check out Rutgers and Penn State. Being only a junior and with more offers that he’ll be receiving over the offseason, his recruitment is far from over. However, at this stage of his recruitment, I asked Hornsby where he viewed Pitt?

“Pitt stands pretty high for me,” said Hornsby. “My relationship with Coach Ti is great. Pitt is only about 3 hours from home so that helps. I’m coming down this weekend for the first time so I’m looking forward to learning more and having a good time with my family.”
